2019 Cecchetto SANTE ROSSO Merlot

The 2019 Cecchetto Sante Rosso Merlot is a distinguished red wine from Italy's Veneto region, crafted exclusively from 100% Merlot grapes. Named in honour of Sante, the father of winemaker Giorgio Cecchetto, this wine reflects a deep familial connection and commitment to quality.

The grapes are allowed a brief period of over-ripening on the vine before undergoing a 10-day maceration in oak barrels. Subsequently, the wine is aged for eight months in second-use French oak barriques, imparting subtle complexity without overpowering the fruit character.

In the glass, it presents a vibrant, impenetrable ruby red hue. The nose offers layered aromas of plum, sour cherry, and ripe berries, evolving into hints of wildflowers, spice, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-balanced, featuring red fruit flavours complemented by notes of dark chocolate and tobacco, leading to a long, persistent finish.

RECOMMENDED PAIRING: Ideal with roasted meats, cured meats, and hearty pasta dishes.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18°C

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14.5%

WINE STORAGE: between 12 and 16°C, away from direct sources of light, avoiding excessively dry conditions.
