A bold and characterful red from Southern Italy, the Piantaferro Primitivo I.G.T. Puglia delivers all the richness and warmth you'd expect from this sun-drenched region.
Deep ruby in colour with garnet highlights, it opens with generous aromas of plum jam, blackberries, and dried herbs, wrapped in notes of vanilla, toasted almonds, and sweet spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and smooth, offering ripe dark fruit, gentle tannins, and a long, warming finish.
This is an approachable yet robust red wine that offers great value and crowd-pleasing flavour.
GRAPES: 85% Primitivo, 15% of other red grape varieties, the latter sourced from the corresponding Primitivo provinces of Puglia.
RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS: Perfect with grilled red meats, slow-cooked lamb, game, hard cheeses, or even chargrilled tuna or swordfish.
